Access to the Registry of Deeds is now available
via the Internet
at
www.sagadahocdeedsme.com
Our internet service is an expansion of the public access already
available at the Registry of Deeds. This
component is a continuation of our commitment to providing high quality service
to all our customers.
Currently the Registry has electronic access to indices dating back to
1964 and images available from 1988.
Additional images are added daily in an ongoing back-scanning
project. This effort will continue to be
a work in progress until all recorded documents are scanned.
Access to VIEW our web site indices is free. However if you want to VIEW or PRINT images,
REGISTRATION is required. Fee schedule
is as follows:
Annual -- $300
View -- $.50 per document
Print -- $.50 per page
When viewing, customers have the option to recall a document without
charge within 24 hours. Following
receipt of a completed agreement, application and registration fee, customers
will receive a User ID and Password, and charges will automatically be billed
to your internet account.

SAGADAHOC COUNTY REGISTRY OF DEEDS
Subscription service agreement for internet access
to Sagadahoc County Registry of Deeds Land Records
This Agreement is made between Sagadahoc County acting through the
Sagadahoc County, Registrar of Deeds, Barbara J.
Trott, hereinafter referred to as "REGISTRAR",
and_________________________________________________________________, of______________________,
hereinafter referred to as "SUBSCRIBER", to provide internet access
to certain public records within the custody of the Sagadahoc County Registry
of Deeds, hereinafter known as "RiverView".
1. The REGISTRAR agrees to
provide the customer with one year of internet access to her public records
information data base.
2. The fee for the subscription
arrangement shall be three hundred dollars ($300) per year in advance. An additional fee of 50 cents ($.50) per
document to view and 50 cents ($.50) per page to print will be charged for any
image viewed or printed off the internet web site. When viewing, customers have the option to
recall a document without charge within a 24 hour period.
3. RiverView is provided on an
"as is, as available" basis, normally twenty-four (24) hours a
day. Seven (7) days a week. The service will be unavailable for
approximately one hour each day to allow for Registry data backup, which is
generally scheduled for early A.M. hours.
The Registrar will endeavor to maintain the data base in optimal working
order. It is agreed and understood,
however, that the SUBSCRIBER is not entitled to a refund of any portion of the
subscription fee if the data base is temporarily inaccessible.
4. The SUBSCRIBER acknowledges
that the REGISTRAR, her employees and agents and SAGADAHOC COUNTY shall not be
liable under any circumstances for any damages, including consequential or
incidental damages, which may result from the supplying of inaccurate
information. The SUBSCRIBER also agrees
to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the REGISTRAR and the County of
Sagadahoc in any action arising from the SUBSCRIBER'S dissemination or use of
the data base information. NEITHER THE
REGISTRAR OR HER EMPLOYEES OR THE COUNTY OF SAGADAHOC WARRANT THAT THE INFORMATION
OR DATA ACCESSED BY SUBSCRIBER IS ACCURATE OR CORRECT. THERE ARE NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES
IN CONNECTION WITH THIS SERVICE.
5. The SUBSCRIBER is responsible
for and must provide all equipment necessary to access RiverView. The SUBSCRIBER will not attempt to alter,
tamper, or otherwise interfere with RiverView indices or data, nor will
customers upload or download any RiverView information from any computer or
system without the express written consent of the REGISTRAR.
6. The REGISTRAR will bill the
SUBSCRIBER'S account for charges incurred.
7. Upon notice published over
RiverView or otherwise delivered to the SUBSCRIBER, the REGISTRAR may modify
this Agreement, Operating Rules, or the RiverView service. Such modification may include without
limitation, price changes, billing methods, implementation of user priorities
and discontinuance of parts of RiverView.
8. This Agreement may be
terminated immediately by the REGISTRAR and without notice to the SUBSCRIBER
for SUBSCRIBER'S failure to comply with the terms of this Agreement or if the
REGISTRAR fails to receive appropriate reimbursement for the use of RiverView.
9. This Agreement represents the
final and complete agreement of the parties, confers no rights on third parties
and shall be modified only as set out above or by a subsequent written
instrument signed by all the parties and shall not be assigned. It shall be governed by Maine law and venue
for any action shall be Sagadahoc County.
It shall be effective upon its execution by the parties and the
REGISTRAR'S receipt of the annual subscription fee.
I agree to pay the REGISTRAR, as agent for the County of Sagadahoc,
rates in effect for the billing period in which RiverView services are
purchased and billed. I have read and
fully understood the terms of this Agreement and agree to be bound by them.
